COLIN McRAE GATHERING Sunday 31st August
After two extremely busy weekends competing there will be no rest for some of the Rally Team. A tribute to one of the greatest rally drivers of all time Colin McRae will be held over the weekend of August 30th - 31st as an expected 1,300 subaru drivers will be convoying from Colin's home town of Lannark Scotland down to the headquarters of the World Subaru Rally Team in Banbury Oxfordshire.
The charity fund raising event will be the biggest of it's kind in the world and all money raised will be donated to Colin's Charities.
Only Subaru drivers that are registered with the official McRae Gathering are allowed to attend this amazing event and we are lucky enough to be able to be part off it. As we are competing the Woodpecker Stages on Saturday we will however be able to pick up the convoy at Prodrive Sunday morning where it will then continue onto Warwick (Prodrive's testing ground) for what will be the most amazing sight of Subaru's spelling out Colins name along with the Scottish Flag.
MCRAE GATHERING Sunday 31st August
We arrived at Prodrive Sunday morning around 9.00am, in fact i think every supporter of Colin McRae had decided to arrive at the same time. It was one very immpressive sight and one that we will never forget. Every car park within 1/2 mile of the World Subaru Rally Team Headquaters was full of every Subaru make, model and colour.

The convoy was to leave Prodrive at 12.00 noon, giving people the chance to look around the factory and the museum. At 12.00 on the dot a loud bell rang, this was the sign to return to our cars and to get ready to start the convoy up the M40 from junction 11 to junction 15 at Warwick.
It was quite an emotional journey, every bridge and footpath over the motorway was full of people waving and cheering and even though the motorway had come to a complete stop in places the general public were in full support.
300 Subaru's had left Lannark Scotland, Colin McRae's hometown on Saturday where another 300 Subaru's had joined the convoy on the M6 at Charnock Richards Services. A total of 600 Subaru's by Saturday night had arrived at Banbury. Sunday morning saw another 500 Subaru's arrive in preparation for the convoy to Warwick, Prodrive's testing Centre. An estimated 1,100 Subaru's had gathered all at the same time.
On our arrival at Warwick we were parked in order to spell out the name of Colin McRae, two world records were broken and an estimated £40,000 had been raised to Colin's chosen Charities.
